P25RX-II Firmware
Fri Apr 14, 2023 8:57 am
Today I realized that there are still some issues with release version 2022-06-30_1531. If you aren't having any issues, there is no need to change versions. I'm leaving that version up on the website as the <testing> version and making release version BTCFG-II-2022-02-10_1045 the <stable> version that will ship with new receivers. It has been well-tested and shipped with many receivers.

P25RX-II Bluetooth Firmware?
Sat Apr 22, 2023 4:15 pm
Is there is a different firmware version for the P25RX-II to show the display when synced to a car bluetooth like Ford's sync3 system?

The correct display of data on an LCD panel is dependent on the Bluetooth hardware/firmware. This is separate from the P25RX receiver software. It is known to work with these vehicles:
Honda Civic, 2016 (AVRC text display of signal quality and talk-group is working)
Honda CRV, 2017 (AVRC text display of signal quality and talk-group)
Nissan frontier 2019 truck, factory Rockford Fosgate audio system (AVRC text
display of signal quality and talk-group)

Thank for the quick reply. I thought I read somewhere that the P25RX and the P25RXII had different bluetooth modules and hold the P25RX could work with a display?

My experience with Bluetooth AVRCP is hit and miss based on vehicle and Bluetooth device. AVRCP is how song info metadata is displayed on a vehicle LCD. I have not had much luck with any Bluetooth text on Ford Sync systems. I use my P25RX bluetooth for audio and a Wio Terminal for display. Works great.

The P25RX and P25RX-II use the exact same Bluetooth module. The Bluetooth module firmware is the same on both models. Bluetooth audio works on the vast majoirty of Bluetooth speaker devices. The display to automotive LCD panels via AVRC is not supported very well with the current Bluetooth firmware.

There is an update available. 2023-04-29_1839. This release is identical to release 2022-02-10_1045, but with a driver change that was implemented after the 02-10_1045 release. The change fixes an ocassional/rare lock-up issue. This was already tested and verified in 2022. 2023-04-29_1839 should be a very stable release based on the 2022-02-10_1045 release.
