FM or LSM Demod
Mon Dec 11, 2023 2:18 pm
With the Micro and Nano what determines the type of demodulation to use, either FM or LSM?
Also, on the Micro screen there are two entries, "Free" and "Ref", what do they refer to and can they be removed?
Thanks
Steve

For a P25 system: LSM is Simulcast, FM is non-Simulcast. The user can pick the demod that matches their system.
I recall that both "Free" and "Ref" have been removed in the NanoP25RX display.
To better answer your question: The "Ref" is your radio's Reference Frequency Calibration set by BTT when it was factory calibrated.
The "Free" is a debug print to show the amount of free memory for the display.

Thanks for the info. I listen Chester County Emergency Services in PA.
They are a Simulcast system so I need to change
any of the P, S or A frequencies to LSM
Thanks
