Home brew SDS-P25RX
Fri Apr 07, 2023 9:23 pm
I put a P25RX in a enclosure with a display and audio amp. Something I have been meaning
to do for a long time but, life kept getting in the way. Many thanks to "Goldmyne99" for his
help with the Teensy board programming. I plan on changing the front panels to etched
thin aluminum or at least something better than laminated printer paper.
Lets see if these hosting image links work.......Jim

Nice work @69Roadrunner! Your setup looks great! What are you using to drive the speaker?

It is called a PAM8403
3 watt 5 volt amp with a pot attached.
I have a few of them for different things.
Line level in and 4 ohm speakers seem about right.
6 bucks on e-bay.

Saw this over on RR, looks great! Been thinking about doing something like this for a couple months now but haven't quite jumped in yet in designing. This gave me a few more ideas. Now I just need to get permission to raid the junkpile in the back of our warehouse at work that is referred to as Deep Space 9.

I see now that it isn't possible to attach images with this forum unless you host them somewhere else. That makes sense for a free forum. If interest in BTT receivers picks up at some point in the future, I will look into other solutions. Radioreference.com uses https://xenforo.com/. That is interesting, but current sales will not allow for that.

Great job on your enclosure for the P25RX, 69Roadrunner! I hope to try and do something like that to my rig one of these days soon.

In my P25RX project, the ILI9341 also is a touch screen driven by Arduino code with the Teensy 4.0 mcu. This was built prior to finding the Wio Terminal device.dcr_inc wrote:what do you use for the "buttons" and joystick inputs on the TFT?
